Contact Lenses
Soft Contact Lenses can be a big part of some people’s vision correction strategy. There are many different options in soft contact lenses including: daily disposable, bi-weekly, and monthly lenses. There are toric soft contact lenses that can correct for astigmatism. Options for presbyopia include multifocal contacts, toric multifocal that correct for astigmatism and presbyopia, and monovision that allows one eye to see in the distance and the other to do near tasks. Dr Lister can help you into contacts that fit your lifestyle!
Some people desire to wear contact lenses, but certain reasons prevent soft contact lens wear. These people may be suited to rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses or scleral contact lenses. Some conditions warrant the use of these lenses including: Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, and high or irregular astigmatism. These types of lenses can be a great option.
Pediatric Patients
Pediatric patients need special time and consideration. There are many conditions that children may have that are hard to detect with just a screening or an acuity check at the pediatricians. Dr. Lister is experienced with kids and would love to see the whole family!

We Also Manage Many Non-surgical Ocular Conditions
It is important to see the eye doctor even when you feel like your vision is fine. Many serious conditions are hard to detect without a regular eye exam. Dr. Lister uses the most current practices and equipment in order to diagnose and treat conditions that may arise. Many people don’t know that when you have a medical reason to see the eye doctor we can bill your medical insurance.
Some ocular conditions that we manage may include:

Glaucoma
Desert View Eyecare uses some of the latest equipment and practices to diagnose and treat glaucoma including visual field testing, ocular coherence tomography (OCT), tonometry, as well as other tests and treatments.

Macular Degeneration
This serious eye condition requires frequent monitoring and possible referral for treatment. Patients with this condition are at greater risk for losing vision. Dr. Lister keeps a close watch on these patients to help them maintain their greatest vision.

Cataracts
With a dilated eye exam, Dr. Lister can diagnose cataracts, monitor their progression, and co-manage the treatment of those cataracts with your surgeon when necessary.

Diabetes Complications
Diabetes can affect many different systems in the body, including blood vessels throughout the body. Blood vessels in the eye may also be involved and may lead to loss of vision. Dr. Lister is trained and experienced in detecting and diagnosing these problems and working alongside your primary care doctor as part of your team for good health.

Amblyopia
This is when one or both eyes don’t see as well even with proper correction. This can be due to an eye turn (strabismic) or eyes with very different prescriptions (refractive). With proper treatment, the affected eye(s) may gain acuity and see better.

Ocular Foreign Bodies
Foreign objects in your eyes can be painful and cause damage to the delicate tissues in your eyes. We can help! We will get you in when you need us.

Lasik
Dr. Lister can go over your history, prescription, and perform an exam to help determine if you are a good candidate for Lasik or another refractive surgery option, and co-manage with your surgeon afterwards to help you get the best results.

Red Eyes
Red eyes can be anything from bacterial infections, viral infections, allergies, or many other problems.
